Restoration of People’s Palace & Winter Gardens Update

Encouraging news and the next step in the redevelopment of the People’s Palace and Winter Gardens.

At the end of May, Glasgow City Council & Glasgow Life submitted a bid to the National Heritage Lottery Fund for the next round of funding for the restoration of the People’s Palace & Winter Gardens.

The outcome of this bid should be known by late September/October.

Friends of the People’s Palace Winter Gardens and Glasgow Green (FOPPWGGG) have been working with Glasgow Life through the People’s Palace Community Partners’ Panel (PPCPP) discussing the restoration of both the People’s Palace & Winter Gardens.  These meetings have been very encouraging with lots of new ideas to revitalise the People’s Palace.  A number of issues are still being thrashed out including  the restoration  of  the plants in the Winter Gardens.
